SALMAN KHAN HAS wished Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the team of Manjhi: The Mountain Man best of luck and hopes that the movie becomes a "big hit".
Salman, who also worked with the Gangs of Wasseypur actor in films like Kick in 2014 and Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015, which minted over Rs300 crore in India, took to Twitter to wish the actor and the whole team good luck.
"Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan ke baad Nawaz ki film Manjhi release hogayi hai aaj wishing @Nawazuddin_S and the team all the best and a big hit," Salman tweeted on Friday night.
The film has received a fair share of praise, with actors like Nawazuddin's Badlapur co-star Varun Dhawan tweeting about it. Actress Urvashi Rautela, who made her debut opposite Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great, was also full of praise for the film.
"It is a very inspirational movie and everyone must watch it," Rautela said at a special screening.
Manjhi... star Nawazuddin has shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, but the actor says he is not intimidated by their stardom when he is shooting with them.
The actor, who recently starred with Salman in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Aamir in Talaash and will be seen opposite Shah Rukh in Raees, treats the Khans as his co-actors and not stars.
"The fear of acting in front of a big celebrity will corrupt you. When you are filming a scene, be it Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir, they are your co-actors first. It is the character they are portraying which is in front of you and not the star. If I think there is a 'star' in front of me and not the 'character' they are playing, then I am disrespecting them. If I have to respect them, then I have to first respect the characters they are playing," Nawazuddin said.
He has dabbled in both commercial and offbeat movies and says, "My fans know that I try to attempt a variety of roles. To shock them in every film is very necessary for an actor. A hero might follow the same template in every film but for an actor it is very important to shock viewers and make them think, 'He can do this too?'"
The star credits the current phase of Indian cinema with giving him the leg room to experiment with different genres of films. IANS, PTI
