Priyanka Chopra is making us proud: Ranveer Singh

Akshay Kumar was amongst a host of Bollywood stars who praised Priyanka for her People's Choice Award win.

The young guns of Bollywood including Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha and Athiya Shetty have hailed Priyanka Chopra's win at the People Choice Awards, calling her a deserving winner. Priyanka, 33, picked up the Best Actress in a New TV Series award for her American show Quantico, becoming the first Indian to win at the People's Choice Awards.
Her Bajirao Mastani co-star Ranveer said, "Congratulations to Priyanka. I am very proud of her. She has made the country proud. She works very hard... And she has made the country incredibly proud."
Sonakshi said the Mary Kom star is representing India on an international platform. "I am very happy for her. Nobody deserves this better than her. She is representing India in a big way. I knew this was coming."
"She is meant to break records. It's a proud moment for our country," said actor Darshan Kumar, who starred opposite Priyanka in Mary Kom.
Hero actress Athiya Shetty said, "I think she is such an inspiration. She is doing our country so proud. For her the sky is the limit."
Actress Sonam Kapoor and actor Irrfan Khan also congratulated Priyanka for her win.
'SHE DESERVES IT'
Akshay Kumar, while congratulating Priyanka Chopra on her win, said the actress has brought pride to Bollywood and the country. Priyanka starred opposite Akshay in hits like Aitraaz and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. They were one of the most liked on-screen couples during early 2000s.
"She deserves it. She has done a good job. She is making us proud," Akshay said of her win at the red carpet of the 22nd Annual Star Screen Awards. When asked if he had seen her TV series Quantico yet, the Boss actor replied, "Not yet."
The duo last shared screen space in 2005 film Waqt: The Race Against Time.
Upon receiving tons of congratulatory messages, Priyanka used the innovative VoxWeb app to thank her fans for their love. She tweeted: "A picture can't convey the full extent of my love! Oh wait but this #SpeakingPic can. Straight from my heart! #Voxie http://tinyurl.com/zgc44wf."
"This is possible only because of you guys. Thank you with all my heart for your constant love, support and encouragement. I am, because you make me who I am." The VoxWeb social network witnessed an avalanche of traffic after the tweet as Priyanka's first 'Voxie' attracted them.
