He is the Badshah of Bollywood and rules countless hearts around the world. We have heard him share his most intimate thoughts in various television interviews but never like this.
During his TED Talk at Vancouver recently, he wore his heart on the sleeve and went on to reveal some personal things about his life - things not many were privy to before. He spoke about growing up in Delhi, the advent of social media and how he grappled with it, the birth of his third son and his pure thoughts on humanity.
Shah Rukh was at his witty best when he tackled the most sensitive topics in a lighter vein. It is an art we should learn in today's times.
We have listed five quotes from his speech that will definitely move you.

1: About losing his parents

"I was born in a refugee colony in the capital city of India, New Delhi and my father was a freedom figher and my mother was just a fighter. Must like the original homosepians, we struggled to survive. I was in my early 20s when I lost both my parents."

2: And the internet happened

"Everything I said took a new meaning, everything I did- good, bad, ugly was there for the world to comment upon and judge. Everything that I didn't say or do was met with the same fate."
"Reality became virtual and virtual became real. I started to feel that I couldn't be who I wanted to be or say what I actually thought. And humanity at this time completely identified with me. Both of us were going through mid-life crisis. Humanity, like me, was becoming an over-exposed prima donna."

3: On his third child

"Four years ago, my lovely wife Gauri and me decided to have a third child. It was claimed on the internet that he (AbRam) was the love child of the first child who was 15 years old. Apparently, he had sown his wild oats with a girl while driving a car in Romania. And there was a fake video to go with it and we were so disturbed by the video."

4: On getting old

"I looked at my face and realized I am beginning to look more and more like my wax statue at Madame Tussauds."

5: Love triumphs all

"I have realised that whatever moves you, whatever urges you to create, to build, whatever keeps you from failing, whatever helps you survive, is perhaps the oldest, and simplest emotion known to mankind, and that is love.
