Several Etisalat customers across the UAE faced internet disruptions for many hours on Wednesday morning. The telecommunication services company later confirmed that the service was fully restored.
Etisalat said in a statement that customers in several locations across the UAE faced Internet services disruption caused due to network modernisation and upgrades conducted.
An Etisalat customer care representative told Khaleej Times in the morning that the problem that started at 6am was expected to be resolved by 12 pm.
Another customer care official confirmed at 12.30 pm that the issue was resolved at their end and customers who still faced problems should contact them for assistance.
Etisalat received several calls since morning and some UAE residents even took to Twitter to complain about the internet disruption.

Arun Bennis Loftus who lives in Abu Dhabi told Khaleej Times, "The funniest part was my landlord who uses my internet for free thought that I had switched it off. He called me up when I was busy in the office saying that his wife could not access internet at home. He enquired if I had disconnected it before going to office. I had to tell him it wasn't me but a technical problem with Etisalat."
Telecommunication services and technology company Etisalat headquartered in the UAE, provides telephone, TV and Internet across the UAE and beyond.
