Going for a swim
I've been swimming regularly since I was 12. It gives me alone time to clear my mind and take a break from the constant notifications and distractions we are inundated with. It's not a bad workout either. Hope to do a 5km marathon swim one day.
Getting some daddy-daughter time
I'm a recent father, so this has been a new but joyful change to my life, and currently the important aspect of my life. Whether it's taking my baby girl for a walk, choosing toys for her, or playing music for her, I'm game for it. It really lifts my mood and reinvigorates me. Sometimes, a quick video call in the middle of the day with my daughter also does the trick.
Relaxing at the movies
I'm a sucker for action flicks and love to go to the cinema. It's a nice way to take a mental break and enjoy some good entertainment - and some movies you just need to see on the big screen.
Playing cards
Keeps the mind sharp and is a fun social activity with some friends. It's even more enjoyable if you're competitive and play to win. My personal favourites are Hearts and Spades, which are real skill-based games.
Beach break
My wife and I love our beach holidays. We just need to get away from the city every once in a while and have some free time without an agenda. It's quite liberating to switch off the phone for a few days. Our personal favourite getaway is Bali.
Reading
I'm a vociferous reader, and it allowing me to keep learning all the time. There is so much great content being published every day, it's impossible to read everything. I like to use apps like Nuzzel and Quibb to keep tabs on great posts shared by my network. Hope to pass on this habit to the kids.
