"About 40 per cent of airlines have experienced some type of loyalty fraud, and about the same percentage have no security measures to protect their frequent-flyer programmes," says CellPoint Mobile CEO Kristian Gjerding.
"With nearly two in five travel bookings now made in the mobile environment, fraudulent activity will inevitably follow. Airlines need solutions that can protect payments, passengers, loyalty programme value and their reputations."
Cellpoint Mobile has launched a payment capability that allows passengers to make payments and bookings using a single click.
"We assist airlines do business with their passengers in an easier method by providing solutions for payments and other types of interactions by eliminating the need to sign in on various websites and apps, " explains Gjerding.
It aims to simplify payments by giving airlines a single platform for securely storing passengers' payment information including debit and credit cards as well as bank transfers and mobile payments, supporting third party e-wallets such as Apple Pay, Visa Checkout, and Android Pay. It also manages all these features from a single dashboard using a single click checkout through a built-in secure credentialing process.
Airlines will be able to potentially increase revenues by gaining a competitive advantage and boosting customer satisfaction by embracing a payment platform that feature already features all the in store payment capabilities.
The airline payment system market is growing rapidly as airlines are beginning to fully understand the important of owning the access to their payment ecosystems. Through a one-click system like Cellpoint's, airlines will be able to remain in control over the payment as the payment systems integrate within the airline's internal IT systems.
