The Oberoi Group is set to open 'The Oberoi Al Zorah Resorts' in Ajman by the end of 2016, a top official confirmed to Khaleej Times.
Al Zorah is a real estate project developed by Solidere International and designed by Lissoni Associati. The scheme offers a luxury resort with waterfront living and includes a hotel, private villas, restaurants, a spa, swimming pools and a private beach.
The luxury resort will provide a perfect weekend break to UAE nationals and expatriates from the hustle and bustle of corporate life in other emirates, its general manager Burkhard Wolter told Khaleej Times during an interview at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).
The property is being showcased at the ATM to provide insights to interested people including travel agencies and tour operators.
"The response is very good at the ATM and clients are very excited. People are literally waiting for the opening of this property in Ajman," Wolter said.
In addition to UAE guests, the general manager expects clients from Russia, CIS, UK and US. "People coming from the US and transiting through Dubai for India are expected to be our potential customers as they will get a relaxing beach break at Al Zorah Resorts," he said.
A golf course very close to the property will also attract customers, he added.
Al Zorah is a luxury eco-destination with a beautiful long beachfront, azure lagoons and lush mangroves. Nestled within 247 acres of forest, Al Zorah boasts exceptional biodiversity. It also offers a championship golf course by Nicklaus Design, and kayaking.
The property has been designed without disturbing the environment because it's all about sustainability and respecting the environment, according to the general manager.
The Oberoi, Al Zorah has an ultra-modern layout that harmonises with the natural environment. The 113 villas, suites and penthouse are elegant and modern with an abundance of natural light and breathtaking sea views. The spacious and luxuriously appointed rooms will all have private balconies, the suites offer terraces, while the villas offer terraces and temperature-controlled private pools.
The resort is divided into three platforms that run parallel to the ocean and each building is carefully positioned in relation to its function. The platforms rise up from the oceanfront and the height of the buildings increases with each so as to guarantee superb ocean views from all areas of the resort.
The main hotel is composed of separate buildings connected by light walkways, with shallow water pools that extend over the inner courtyard where the main restaurant and amenities are situated.
Apart from The Oberoi Al Zorah luxury hotel group Oberoi Hotels & Resorts is looking at two other luxury resort openings with The Oberoi Marrakech, Morocco and The Oberoi Sukhvilas, Chandigarh.  All three of The Oberoi Group's luxury hotel openings this year will be located in stunning natural environments and offer the impeccable standards of luxury and  service associated with the group's worldwide portfolio.
