The property market in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, has always been stable unlike markets in other Indian metros such as Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru.
R. Chandramouli, CEO, TVS Emerald Haven Realty Ltd, part of the $7 billion TVS Group, noted that Chennai continues to draw investments in the automobile, auto component, engineering and IT, and services sectors.
"Both the auto and IT sectors continue to attract leading global and domestic players," he said. Hyundai Motors, Bharat Benz, Renault-Nissan and other automakers are expanding their operations and investing huge sums in Chennai. The more than century-old TVS Group - forayed into housing development with Green Hills residential project near Tambaram off GST Road. The apartments have been successfully completed and delivered before time and the villas are getting ready for handover in May 2016 with very few units available.
In January, TVS Emerald launched its second project, GreenAcres at Kolapakkam, just 400 metres off Vandalur - Kelambakkam Road and occupies a sprawling 18-acres of property. It features villas and apartments along with a host of amenities such as parks, play areas, jogging track, club house with gym, multi-purpose hall, swimming pool, indoor games, guest suites, etc.
Both are located near Tambaram with good rail connectivity and convenient road access to OMR IT Corridor, GST Road, Oragadam and Sriperumbudur manufacturing hubs.
