'Expansion' is the key operating word for 2016 at Nikai. With many exciting new brands like Hyundai under the Nikai umbrella, the group is poised for the next stage of growth. While Electronics is the forerunner in the group, there is huge emphasis on other busnesses like bringing the finest FMCG products from various parts of the globe to the region.
Nikai was set up two decades ago by Paras Shahdadpuri, who is reputed in business circles as a gentleman, a statesman and a leading businessman. He is the winner of the prestigious Bharat Shiromani Award; owner of a Superbrand; and above all, a philanthropist who takes deep pride in serving the community. After holding a commendable position as a diplomat at India's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shahdadpuri took the plunge and set up Nikai in 1995.
Today, two decades later, his brand stands on par with leading international brands. With an offering of over 400 products under the Nikai umbrella and 50 million satisfied customers from all corners of the world, the Chairman of the Group humbly attributes his success to one single promise: reliability. This attribute is essentially his core value and personal credo as well, which resonates across all areas of his work and personal life. He has created a brand that stands tall on a foundation of trust, instilling faith in customers that a Nikai product is strong and reliable. It was through word of mouth and repeated cross category purchase that the brand has grown in an organic format. Internally, the sales mantra is simple: 'one satisfied customer leads to another'.
Under his leadership, the Group that first saw fame with electronics has now diversified to various companies landscaping varied business ventures from trading to corporate staffing solutions. As a service to the community, he has served as the President of Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) many times and still serves as a member of the board. When it comes to charity, he has always led by example, supporting groups like Dubai Cares (a prestigious project of the Dubai Government), Dubai Autism Centre, SNF Foundation, and innumerable charities in India as well. Recently, he has donated buses to Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs and the Rashid Centre for the Disabled.
In essence, his inner being resides in service - a quality that has made these shores proud of an Indian who has chosen to give back to the land that gave him a supporting hand.
