Abu Dhabi finalises uplift projects worth Dh4b

Abu Dhabi has finalised awarding 15 projects valuing Dh4 billion to expand its existing roads and infrastructure, as part of its efforts to contribute to achievement of the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan. The infrastructure projects include five roads and infrastructure work schemes in Madinat Zayed costing Dh2.4 billion, three of which being in the Emirati neighborhood; the execution duration will be between 15 to 45 months with a timeline of 2019.
Another five roads and infrastructure work projects would be built in Mohamed Bin Zayed City in the Western Region with a total value of Dh500 million; all projects go into construction phase in September that will handed over by the beginning of 2018.
Five projects including the design and construction of infrastructure for the new industrial area in Ghayathi with a total value of Dh108 million starts this month and will be completed by August next year.
Preliminary leveling works at North Al Wathba Sector 1 with a total value of Dh80 million starts next month for 1 year; roads and infrastructure works in Bani Yas, Al Shawamekh region for a total value of Dh103 million will be finished December 2018; roads and infrastructure works in Abu Dhabi Island Sector West 2/52 for a total value of Dh93 Million that last for 12 months and finished by 3rd quarter next year. Construction of Dh600 million Al Marfa-Madinat Zayed road starts next month and will be finished by March 2019. The progress in the projects being executed in the context of Abu Dhabi Plan, could be clearly seen in every single aspect across the Emirate," said Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport and Musanada.
Al Marar pointed out that Musanada would save no efforts in delivering the projects and implementing the procedures that would fulfill the objectives of Abu Dhabi Plan, the best example being the long-term projects currently executed by the company across multiple sectors such as infrastructure, transport, roads, utilities, service centers, etc., all emanating from and serving the ultimate objective of Abu Dhabi Plan, i.e. to support local development and establish the foundations of comprehensive and sustainable development, meeting the expectations of and bringing happiness to the community. Al Marar, said: "Construction works will encompass the construction of integrated infrastructure, including external, internal and secondary roads, besides others works in accordance with the approved designs."
For this purpose, a number of contractors have been engaged, including Saif Bin Darwish, Al Kharafi, Nael & Bin Harmal, Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting, Al Jaber, Copri Construction Enterprises, Bin Hafeez, Baynounah Western Group, Wade Adam and Hilalco.
