Motorists in UAE set for fuel price hike

Abu Dhabi - Unleaded gasoline 98 will cost Dh1.00, up from Dh2.00 per litre in January.

The fuel prices have been hiked for February, the Ministry of Energy announced on Sunday. Petrol prices have been increased by nine fils while diesel will cost six fils more.

The new prices will come into effect from February 1. The new price of diesel is Dh2.0 per litre, up from Dh1.94 in January. The new per litre fuel prices are: Super 98-Dh2.0, up from Dh1.91 in January; Special 95-Dh1.89, up from Dh1.80; E Plus-91-Dh1.82, up from Dh1.73.
The global benchmark Brent crude rose 52.4 per cent last year. Brent crude closed last week at US$55.52 a barrel.
