The world's first Harper's Bazaar Café is now open in Dubai Design District (d3), launched by Dubai's Marka - the first public stock retail operator in the UAE - and Hearst Magazines International.
This is the first time the internationally-renowned brand has ventured into the food and beverage arena. The unique concept was designed with Dubai's foodies and socialites in mind, as well as its art, design and fashion communities, as it brings Harper's Bazaar's distinct point of view to life through cuisine, culture and style.
"Marka is delighted to be bringing to Dubai a dining and fashion brand experience that will be the epitome of glamour, style and sophistication with the Harper's Bazaar Café," said Marka chief executive officer Nick Peel.
Hesham Al Mekkawi, managing director of Marka Hospitality, said: "We are proud to have launched the world's first Harper's Bazaar Café in Dubai Design District and look forward to the d3 location serving as a launch pad for future growth and expansion of this exciting concept in the Mena region."
"Harper's Bazaar launched in Dubai in 2007, and was immediately embraced by fashion-forward readers in the UAE, who love the expertly curated, graphic style and visual energy that defines the brand around the world," said Kim St Clair Bodden, Hearst Magazines International senior vice-president and editorial director. "The café brings that vision to life, in a chic environment that highlights the ultimate luxury: extraordinary service."
The venue itself has a dining capacity of 140, with 74 interior seats and 66 across the 166sqm outdoor terrace, which is inspired by the secret gardens and retreats of renowned fashion houses. The terrace provides an enticing entrance to the café itself as well as an ideal event space.
A number of activities are planned that will encourage cultural and social interaction, thereby making it the go-to destination to experience the very best in art, design, fashion and food in Dubai.
