UAE bank ATMs touch 5,219 in H1

While money exchange companies dropped from 86 to 61.

The number of automatic teller machines (ATMs) operated by banks in the UAE hit 5,219 by the end of H1, an increase of two per cent from 5,118 in H1 2016, according to UAE Central Bank statistics.
The number of national banks stood at 23 in Q2 2017, with their branches decreasing from 862 during Q1 to 838 by the end of June this year. Electronic service units operated by these banks rose from 33 to 36 while money exchange companies dropped from 86 to 61. 

GCC banks operating in the UAE remained at six with four branches, in addition to 20 foreign banks with 81 branches against 82 in the same monitored period.
