UAE has once again bagged top spots in the annual list of best airlines for 2018. Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways scored the 6th spot in the list of top 10 airlines and was also named 'Best Long-Haul Airline', while Emirates won the 'Best In-Flight Entertainment' award. It is also worth noting that Dubai's flag carrier Emirates is one of the pioneers of in-flight entertainment worldwide, having fully equipped their fleet with the system back in 1993.

According to Forbes, the aviation safety and product rating site AirlineRatings.com announced the annual list of the world's best airlines for 2018 considering over a dozen key factors including fleet age, passenger review ratings, profitability, investment rating and key product offerings such as premium economy on long-haul routes, and seating options in other classes, not to mention operational safety.
Air New Zealand won the best airline title for the fifth year in a row. AilineRatings.com said in a statement, "Air New Zealand continued its record-breaking financial performance, in-flight innovations, environmental eadership, young fleet and motivation of its staff." This was despite the airline not having a first class offering. Air New Zealand only has economy, premium economy and business class offerings.
Apart from the top 10, AirlineRatings also picks a winner in each of 20-22 categories.
Surprisingly, no airline from the Americas made it to the top 10.

4. Virgin Australia
