DC Aviation Al Futtaim will expand its operations at Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA). This follows an announcement from Al Futtaim to lease an additional 10,000sqm of land from Dubai South during the Dubai Airshow.
The new plot will increase the operational potential of DCAF - the first integrated private and business aviation operator at AMIA. It will also enable the company to expand its existing VIP lounge and hangar facility to keep up with growing demand for its services.
Holger Ostheimer, general manager of DC Aviation Al-Futtaim, said: "The recent increase in demand for our services as well as Dubai Airport's decision to transition all corporate and private aviation activities to Al Maktoum International Airport has encouraged Al Futtaim to committing to signing this lease deal. This agreement will ensure that DCAF will remain the number one service provider for business and private jet operations in Aviation District at Dubai South."
The expansion will more than double the hangar capacity as well as enable DCAF to add two single aisle aircraft maintenance bays and provide space for an additional workshop and equipment storage.
DCAF is a joint venture between Al Futtaim and Germany's DC Aviation. Its core areas of business include aircraft management, maintenance, FBO (fixed-base operator) and ground handling and business jet charter.
The existing DCAF hangar measures 5,700sqm and can accommodate ultra-long range business jets such as the Falcon 7X, Global Express or Gulfstream G650.
Located just off the airport's runway, the DCAF hanger and 7,700sqm dedicated ramp parking enables 24-7 support and maintenance services for private and businesses jets of all sizes.
