Getting stuck in a traffic snarl-up is always exasperating. You wish if only you could have driven over the cars. Hum Rider is here to turn your wish into reality.
Being hailed as a remedy for your traffic woes, Verizon's Hum Rider has hydraulic lifts in the wheels. Business Insider shared a promotional video of Hum Rider on its Twitter page.
Hum Rider helps you escape gridlocks by safely driving over the cars in front of you, reported USA Today. The vehicle widens and elevates to allow this to happen, the video reveals.
The vehicle was designed by special effects house A2ZFX, and uses a Honda generator to run its hydraulic lift system and in-wheel electric motors, according to the report.
Hum Rider weighs 8,500 lbs and to support all that tonnage, the standard tyres are replaced with thicker, bigger truck tyres.
As it rises into the air, the lifts spread wide enough to straddle small cars, while a four-camera system gives the driver a bird's eye view.
In the video produced by Thinkmodo, the driver sees the traffic on a street, hits a button on the dashboard and the car raises and widens, telescoping like Inspector Gadget's limbs.
