The Sharjah Police on Sunday arrested a 58-year-old Pakistani who claimed he could cure people using black magic.
A CID official told Khaleej Times that the police received a tip-off about a suspect practising black magic for money in Sharjah.
He claimed that he could cure psychiatric disorders and chronic diseases, and convinced his victims that he could also solve marital and family issues, treat those possessed by demons, and bring happiness to unhappy people.
CID officers said the suspect wrote mysterious words on sheets of paper and asked for large sums of money from his victims.
Based on this information, police launched an investigation to identify suspects and confirm the information.
The police discovered that the suspect is a maintenance worker and promotes his illegal services among people from various nationalities while carrying out wall paintings at their residences.
Police arrested him red-handed at his home carrying out the illegal activities during a trap laid by CID officers. During interrogation, he confessed his crime and was referred to public prosecution.
A police official warned the public of falling victim to such kind of illegal activities.
He urged the public to call the police at 065632222 to report any kind of illegal activities and crimes.
