Hadeed Emirates Contracting Taps Litana Manpower

25 November 2009
DUBAI —Hadeed Emirates Contracting, or HEC, a UAE-based turnkey contractor, has signed up Litana, a construction company in Lithuania, to supply manpower for its ongoing projects.

Under the JV,  Litana will deploy European supervisors, engineers, welders, erectors, pipe fabricators, pipe fitters and other skilled workers to execute HEC’s projects in shorter time schedules, and with a smaller workforce.

A Memorandum of Understanding  was signed between the two companies on the sidelines of The Big 5 exhibition in Dubai, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where HEC and Litana are showcasing their completed and future projects.

The MoU was signed by Nasser El Ali, chief operating officer of HEC and Vaidas Rudis,  Regional Director for Middle East and north Africa, Litana Group of Companies.

“Hadeed Emirates Contracting is currently working on projects that have a total value exceeding Dh400 million, and we believe that our joint venture with Litana will add value to our expansion plans in the UAE, GCC and Middle East,” said El Ali.

Litana is  one of the biggest companies in the Baltic Region, with branches in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Finland, France, Sweden and Norway.

Its core activities include industrial and civil construction projects, design and manufacture of buildings, manufacture of metal constructions, manufacture of ship’s hull blocks, manufacture and installation of piping and insulating and cladding premises.
