The West Indies have got a chance to stem the rot after a spirited performance on the first day of the third Test at Sharjah Cricket stadium on Sunday.
While talking to the media after the match, one of the star performers of the day Devendra Bishoo said: "It was good bowling performance today (Sunday), but don't forget it is the first day.
"There is a lot to be done in the remaining days and we can't say we are going to win this match at the moment.
"We need to be consistent and perform in every department, if we want any good result."
Bishoo took most of the wickets in the last session and he revealed the secret behind it by saying: "My body language was not very good in the first session and Carlos Brathwaite called me out and said 'I have performed on many occasions and need to lift myself up' and it worked wonders for me.
"I tried to stick to basics and the Pakistani batsmen committed some mistakes as well.
"The wicket is also helping spinners but it was a collective effort to restrict a strong Pakistani batting line-up to 255 for 8."
Sami Aslam, the top scorer for Pakistan (74), was bombarded with questions about his nervousness. The opener has played seven Tests and yet to score a century. He got out in the 90s a couple of times and on Sunday he looked set to reach three figures but threw away his wicket by trying a reverse sweep.
"There was no sign of nervousness but I feel I have to address the issue sooner than later. I need to minimise the mistakes in future."
While talking about the wicket, Sami said: "It helped fast bowlers in the first hour and started breaking in the evening. But I still think it is a good track to bat on.
"The credit goes to West Indies bowlers for a good performance. The outfield is very slow and batsmen have to take risks to accelerate the scoring and in the process we lost wickets.
"I hope our bowlers are capable of stopping the visitors from setting a big total. There is still lot to be played in this match and let us keep our fingers crossed."
