Abu Dhabi - Municipality organises programme to create awareness among youngsters

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has organised a training event to create awareness on safe swimming among youngsters.
The educational event held at the Family Beach of Abu Dhabi Corniche and Al Bateen Beach discussed about safe swimming zones, swimming risks, first aid skills and rescue of victims.
The event titled 'The Young Saver at the Corniche and Al Bateen beaches' was participated by youngsters from different backgrounds, who were acquainted with the role of savers, and the concept of the 'blue flag' with regards to the safety and environmental standards as well as the appearance of the beaches.
The team of Al Bateen Municipal Centre distributed awareness leaflets about the risks of swimming, best techniques of first aid, and tips to beach-goers.
According to Department of Municipal Affairs as well as the Abu Dhabi City Municipality events like this aims at raising awareness about using public facilities and protecting the environment.
The event also aims at diffusing a safe recreational environment to residents through guided programmes to improve standards of security, safety and improving the appearance of the city.
The municipality commended the interest shown by families and children and set out a fun-packed entertainment programme in support of the awareness activities.
