DUBAI — Dana Gas PJSC, a United Arab Emirates-based energy distribution company, may build an offshore gas processing plant in Pakistan to help meet the country's power demands, a company spokesman said.
The U.A.E. energy company intends to be the top investor in a floating storage re-gasification terminal that is being planned in Port Qasim in Karachi, said the Dana Gas spokesman, who asked not to be identified by name. The terminal, designed by Single Buoy Moorings, Inc, will process liquefied natural gas for sale to Pakistani power suppliers to meet a gas shortage of about 1 billion cubic feet a day, he said. Dana Gas expects to reach agreements with customers in Pakistan in the next six months, and is in discussions with regional suppliers of LNG.
