US Education Secy arriving in UAE today

ABU DHABI — Minister of Education Dr Hanif Hassan Ali has welcomed the visit of the US Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings, who will be arriving in the UAE today accompanied by a big education delegation.

Dr Hassan lauded the educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries. In a statement yesterday, the minister said, "We have strong bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of education and have established academic programmes and training development plans in English language and other subjects."

 

  "We constantly organise several training programmes for the UAE principals and supervisors in the United States in order to enable them to get acquainted with the American educational institutes and to attend leadership training programmes," the minister said.
