Entrepreneurship Centre on DWC campus mulled

DUBAI — Dubai Women's College (DWC) plans to open an Entrepreneurship Centre at its campus for local women and men entrepreneurs of all ages, announced DWC President Dr Howard Reed yesterday.

The centre hopes to address the main challenge of rising rent costs by providing entrepreneurs office space at a reduced rate.

The centre, which has been in the planning for a while, requires funding to take off. "We are in discussion with partners," said Dr Reed.

The centre can accommodate at least 70 businessmen and women and hopes to open up in the next six months. Officials cited about Dh1 million as the costs required to set up the Entrepreneurship Centre. This is a conservative amount as the DWC campus is already equipped with the necessary facilities like IT.

Officials also said that the centre would eventually open to international entrepreneurs and would not be confined to only local businessmen.
