More centres to help smokers kick the habit
(WAM)

9 March 2008
DUBAI - In a bid to encourage smokers to kick the habit, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is opening more quit-smoking centres in the UAE.

According to Dr. Ali Shukr, MoU Under-Secretary, a private company has been commissioned to set up more centres in the Northern Emirates of the UAE.

The move follows on the record success achieved by the existing centres.

‘In line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we are bent on making the UAE smoking free by helping smokers to kick the habit,’ he said.
