25pc salary increase for UAE University national professors

AL AIN — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered a 25 per cent salary increase for national PhD holders and professors working at the UAE University.

Shaikh Mohammed gave instructions to Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAE University, to immediately put this increase into effect.

During an inspection tour of the UAE University campuses yesterday morning, Shaikh Mohammed stressed the significance of providing all means of stability and security to students to further boost their innovativeness in fulfilling their social, humanitarian and national mission and help raise a generation that is well-equipped in all aspects of  knowledge and literacy.

The UAE University Information Technology College was the first to be visited by Shaikh Mohammed, who was accorded a warm welcome by students and the academic staff.

He toured different departments and labs accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and other officials.

At a presentation by Shaikh Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammed was briefed on the five-year strategy through which the UAE University aims to achieve international academic leadership.
