DUBAI — From March 13 to April 28, the cricket World Cup extravaganza begins in the West Indies where the elite in the game and the qualifiers make an exciting 16-team field.

There are no clearcut favourites as things stand today amongst the 10-Test playing nations. The champion side, as form goes, will come from the top 6 sides of the elite.

The 5 other qualifiers along with Kenya who have ODI status, form a much improved opposition compared to the previous chapters where the top 6 countries dominated the Cup.

From today, Khaleej Times will run a buildup in Sports Times for the mega event.
