5 tonnes of garbage collected

FUJAIRAH — The volunteers of the Emirates Diving Society (EDS) have successfully collected 5 tonnes of waste materials at the Aqah beach area in Fujairah, as part of a campaign billed the ‘Arabian Cleanliness’ annually organised in cooperation with the UN Environment Regional Bureau, official sources said.

The campaign held simultaneously in Deba Al Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah was aimed at cleaning the UAE eastern and western beaches, and diving sites, by collecting and recycling the collected wastes, Eissa Al Areer, the EDS Deputy Chairman said.
