Asian Indoor Games

DUBAI — Five UAE players are in Macau to participate in the snooker and billiards championships of the second Asian Indoor Games which began yesterday.

The UAE’s challenge is led by the two top snookers players Mohammed Shehab and Mohammed Al Joker who will compete in the singles event. Issa Al Hashimi will participate in the team event. Mohammed Obaid and Ali Saeed will represent UAE in the billiards tournament.

The nine-day event, which ends on November 3, has attracted over 45 players from around the continent. India will be represented by Yasin Merchant and Alok Kumar while Khurram Agha and Naveen Perwani will be in the colours of Pakistan. The hosts Macau, are fielding Wong Tin Hong and Leng San Fat. Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are also being represented by two players each.
