“There is so much enthusiasm about the sport in India and you never know in 10 years time, they may have a new generation of home-grown players dominating women’s golf,” Alex Armas said ahead of the Emaar-MGF Ladies Masters which gets under way at Bangalore’s Eagleton Resort from December 3 to 8.
“Indians love their sport, although not so much golf at the moment. Hopefully, this first Ladies European Tour event will expose Indian women’s golf in a big way to the world. I know, for most youngsters and even for general public, it would be the first time they would see European golfers.
“The exploit of the (LET) players could well inspire many Indian youngsters to take to the game seriously which I am sure will be the case. You never know in the next decade or so, the Indian players start dominating women’s golf,” said Alex who herself played professional golf for five years before becoming the top executive of LET.
