Saudis to press Bush on Palestinian deal
(AFP)

15 May 2008
RIYADH - Saudi Arabia will tell US President George W. Bush on Friday that he must push for a settlement of the Palestinian problem if he wants to counter Iran's growing clout in the Middle East, analysts say.

And despite tensions with Iran over Lebanon, Riyadh is unlikely to endorse Washington's tough line on Teheran, which Bush has described as the ‘singlebiggest threat’ to peace in the region, they told AFP.

Bush will be arriving in Saudi Arabia on the second leg of a five-day Middle East visit that started in Israel and will also take him to Egypt, for talks with various regional leaders.
