From our correspondent

17 November 2006
JEDDAH —- More than 28 Saudi women have completed their training in computer maintenance in the first centre in the holy city of Makkah.

According to Ruqaiya Assad Zaher, the centre's supervisor, the girls have completed their training courses successfully and have been trained as professional computer engineers.

Hana Mujlad, Ahassan Narqueshi, Manea Al Sharif, Nahad Al Ottaibi Zahra Yamani, Ruqaiyia Al Al Sharif Amal Al Subhi, Zubyda Falata, Najwa Al Harbi, Fawzea Hafez, and Auhud Keshmeri are among those who attended the course. They said they were all university graduates but could not find jobs. Instead of remaining idle, they decided to receive professional training in computer maintenance, a specialisation highly needed in the labour market.
