VIVA FILMS is now preparing the movie that for the first time will star Aga Muhlach and Anne Curtis together. The film outfit's big boss Vic del Rosario has assigned no less than Joey Javier Reyes to do the story and direct the project. It will be recalled that it was Direk...

agaJoey who bagged the best director and best story awards in last year's Metro Manila filmfest for the Star Cinema entry, "Kasal Kasali Kasalo," which also won for leading lady Judy Ann Santos the best actress award.

Direk Joey directed two of Aga's most memorable movies, "Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal," which co-starred him with Lea Salonga and produced by OctoArts Films. He also directed "May Minamahal," which won for Aga several best actor trophies. The film, which co-starred Aiko Melendez, was produced by Star Cinema.

It was also Star Cinema which produced the last movie that Direk Joey and Aga collaborated in —"Kung Ikaw na Lang Sana"— and which paired the actor opposite Sharon Cuneta.

For Aga, good (movie) offers just keep coming. The latest is a proposal for him to do an action flick with Senator Bong Revilla. How will the story go?

"We will have equal role. He won't be put at a disadvantage. As for the story, we can discuss it when we finally meet," says Senator Bong.

When told about Senator Bong's offer, Aga's reaction: "Sounds interesting. I'd like to meet with him. When will it be?"

Aga has started work on his new movie, a Star Cinema project that pairs him for the first time with Maricel Soriano and Angelica Panganiban.

How was it? "Very good," answers Direk Maryo de los Reyes, who has directed Aga and Maricel in a number of movies. "This is what's good when you work with professionals. All you do is tell them how you plan to do the scene and, presto, the result is more than what you expect."

Regal Films' chief Mother Lily has said that she is serious in her desire to pair Aga with Angel Locsin. Vic del Rosario is also determined to make a movie with Aga and Regine Velasquez. For the Viva big boss, the team-up of Aga and Regine is still one to reckon with.

"It's okay with me to do even more than two movies this year. I really missed doing movies (he didn't do any last year). When I faced the camera with Maricel on our first shooting day, I really felt a different kind of excitement," Aga relates.
