ABU DHABI — UAE Economy Minister, Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi, will leave today for China and Japan, heading a high-level economic delegation to the two countries, where they will hold talks with Chinese and Japanese officials.

The talks will centre on ways to boost economic and commercial ties between the UAE and the two respective countries.

The delegation will take part in the Chinese International Exports Fair, to be held in the Chinese town of Guangzhou. More than 70 UAE businessmen and businesswomen will take part in the fair.

The delegation will also participate in the UAE-Japan Economic Forum to be held in Tokyo. Shaikha Lubna will hold talks with the Chinese trade minister and other senior officials in the Chinese economic sector. She will tour a number of economic and industrial areas to have first-hand information about the latest technology in the Chinese industrial sector.

Shaikha Lubna’s visit to China follows this week’s successful visit to that country by Foreign Minister, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

It is also to complete the fruitful discussions Shaikh Abdullah had with Chinese officials which reflect positively on the efforts being made to further boost relations between the two countries, particularly  in the area of economy.
