No casualties or injuries have been reported.
Around a dozen firefighting units of Dubai Civil Defence were at work on the site and the blaze has been controlled from spreading to other parts of the factory.
A senior Civil Defence official said that the blaze would be put off within the next two hours.
According to a factory official, night shift was working at the time when the fire broke out but all the workers were away from the storehouse which caught fire. “The storehouses are generally locked at night, so nobody was near it when it caught fire,” said the official on condition of anonymity.
The factory which produces popular edible brands like Aseel Ghee, Safi oil and Nawar cheese and butter, is located next to the Pepsi Cola factory near Second Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road.
