Shah Rukh launches Indian edition of GMC's health journal

DUBAI — Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan launched the Indian edition of the Gulf Medical College’s (GMC) health journal, ‘Health’ on April 8 in Mumbai.

GMC has been publishing the magazine for the past nine years in the UAE. Over 300 guests, comprising who's who of  healthcare fraternity and celebrities from the film industry attended the function.

Dr Shaikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Ruler's Court Ajman, was the guest of honour at the function.

Health Journal is owned by Health International, a subsidiary of Thumbay Group-UAE, which is headed by Thumbay Moideen, the group president. Moideen said that the magazine would be focusing on health, wellness and lifestyle issues and is published by Rauf Ahmed, a senior journalist, who has over three decades of experience in the field. He is the former editor of famous magazines like Filmfare and Movie.

The magazine, which comes out every month, is packed with 100 pages of authoritative articles on health and lifestyle. It will grow to be a 200 page issue soon, said Rauf Ahmed. The UAE edition GMC Health Journal comes as a bilingual, bimonthly magazine, and is in tie-up with internationally renowned institutions like Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, International Hospital Federation, apart from the Ministry of Health and Abu Dhabi Health Authorities, who contribute regular columns in the magazine every issue.
