DUBAI — The strategic plans Dubai Police has chalked out to gradually convert its services into online ones are achieving excellent results, says Colonel Ahmed Hamdan bin Delmook, director of the general department for electronic services, Dubai Police.

The emirate’s law-enforcement authority is looking to have its e-traffic and security services reach more than 80 per cent mark by the end of this year, he said.

The number of visitors to Dubai Police website (www.dubaipolice.gov.ae) stood at 2475, 187 over the last three years, he said and attributed the remarkable response to the easy access to the site to get the services and information that concern large segments of the society.

The services included the interactive voice response and the one touch screen service (the kiosks) of Dubai e-government which is available through 30 machines in all police stations, trade and shopping malls and cooperative societies.

The number of beneficiaries of the e-services from the website accounted for 41, 242 since the beginning of this year until last August.

Of the total, he said, 4460 are subscribers to the SMS, 2129 in the proposals service, while the job seekers, who submit their applications for appointment stood at 1400 , though the service was launched only last year.
