Nabil Al Yousuf, vice chairman of the Arab Strategy Forum Organising Committee said: "Change and reformation in the Arab world are what the next period is all about. Political, economic, and security reformation are necessary for the stability of the region. The forum will act as a platform for discussing such challenges by top speakers that include heads of states, politicians, officials, and academics from all over the world."
"We expect extensive participations this year as the theme 'The Arab World in 2020' is highly relevant for the region. We expect participation from private and public sectors from the GCC and the Arab region as well as from leading international organisations," he said.
The first session on day 1 will feature Prince Turki Al Faisal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UK; Buthaina Shaaban, Syria and Madeleine Albright, Former Secretary of State, USA. In this session, the speakers will discuss the future of the new world order, the results of globalization in the Arab world especially in the political and security related issues, the future of Islamic movements and its relations to the governing systems, and the steps that Arab countries should take in order to eliminate the disadvantages of these movements. Session 2 on Day 1 will feature Ahmad Maher, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Egypt and Professor Francis A. Boyle, Professor, International Law, University of Illinois.
