Mansour bin Zayed opens new Dubai - Fujairah highway

Fujairah - Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs opened today, in presence of Shaikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, the new Shaikh Khalifa highway which links Dubai and Fujairah.

The opening ceremony was held today as part of the celebrations of the UAE’s 40th national day anniversary and following completion of the project which was implemented in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior officials and scores of citizens celebrating the national day anniversary.

The opening ceremony also featured a 5-kilometer marathon, a vintage car parade, sky diving and balloon shows.

Sheikh Mansour honoured winners of the marathon and car parade.

The new highway will help minimise travel time between Dubai and Fujairah to 30 minutes, instead of 90 minutes drive on the existing highway.
