National Day Never Smelt So Good
(Staff Reporter)

29 November 2009,
DUBAI —The spirit of National Day will linger on for visitors and residents of the UAE long after the celebrations end as the essence of December 2nd is being bottled up for the public.

Popular Emirati perfumer, Mohammed Hilal, has developed ‘December 2nd’, an exclusive concoction under the brand Anfasic Dokhoon, blending fragrances that epitomise the culture of the UAE to commemorate the 38th National Day.

“We decided to celebrate this occasion by creating something exclusive and innovative that would embody the spirit of both Eid and the National Day,” Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), distributors of the fragrance, said.

“As a gift, this fragrance reflects the values of Eid in sharing, and as a perfume, it denotes the Emarati tradition since dokhoon, bukhoor and perfumes are an integral part of our rich cultural heritage.”

Around 100,000 bottles that compress scents from plums and peaches for top notes, rose, ylang-ylang and jasmine for the middle, and vanilla, henna, musk and amber as base notes, are part of a  limited edition and not for sale.

The perfume will be handed out by DEPE to visitors at the Dubai Airport and at selected shopping malls, including Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Center and Dubai Festival Center till December 3.
