Dubai Sets Up HR Department

DUBAI — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has 
issued decree No. 31 of 2009, 
setting up the Dubai Human 
Resources Department.

The new department, which will be under the Ruler’s Court, is tasked with developing the integrated strategy for human resources for Dubai government. It will set governance framework, update systems and human resources practices of the public institutions in the emirate.

The fifth article in regard to the department law has delegated it to set policies, strategic plans pertaining to the development of human resources to execute and follow-up the Dubai Strategic Plan.

Shaikh Mohammed issued another decree appointing Amel Mohammed bin Udai as the director-general of the department.

The decrees will be published in the official gazette and have become effective from the date of issuance on November 1. —
