Rich Fare on Cards at Arabian Nights Show

4 November 2009,
DUBAI — The UAE’s south Indian community is in for a dazzling musical treat of popular folk songs and a lineup of varied entertainment including comedy skits and performances by television reality show artistes, this weekend.

Arabian Nights 09, a presentation by Malayalam Communications Limited, one of the leading television companies in India, will flag off on November 5 in Al Ain and will continue through November 6 in Abu Dhabi and November 7 in Dubai.

The shows are led by one of south Indian cinema’s most original actors Kalabhavan Mani, who is also known for his repertoire of folk songs.

He will be accompanied by artistes who perform in the popular ‘Patturumaal,’ ‘Yuva,’ ‘Gandarva Sangeetham,’ and ‘Katha Parayumbol’ shows telecast on Malayalam Communication’s bouquet of channels — Kairali TV, People and We-the Young Channel.

Also joining these artistes are dancers from Kalamandalam, one of the oldest and renowned institutes for dance and music in Kerala, as well as Manoj Guinness and team, a crowd-pleasing comedy troupe.

EM Ashraf, Associate Editor-Middle East of Malayalam Communications said the programme has been carefully structured to ensure that it entertains all sections of the family.

“The performers are household names in Kerala and they will bring the same level of high-quality entertainment on stage in the UAE. We will have adequate security at all venues and are committed to start the programmes on schedule.”

Led by renowned Indian actor Padmashri Mammootty as Chairman and acclaimed media personality John Brittas as Managing Director, Malayalam Communications has been setting the trend in modern television in Kerala.

Its three channels have a wide geographic reach and have millions of loyal viewers across the Middle East region.

Kairali TV is also the only Indian channel available on Mobile TV in the UAE.

Arabian Nights 09 will be held at the Sudanese Club in Al Ain on November 5 at 7.30pm and will be hosted by People TV.

WE–The Young Channel will host the programme at National Theatre in Abu Dhabi on November 6 at 7.30pm, and Kairali TV will host the Dubai show at Al Nasr Leisureland on November 7 at 7.30pm.
