Suspected US drone kills five Taliban in Pakistan
(Agencies)

14 June 2009,
DERA ISMAIL KHAN — Intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. missile strike has killed five people in a Pakistan tribal region.

The two officials say the missile struck three vehicles in South Waziristan — the main base for Pakistani Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud.

The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday because they were not authorized to speak to media.

It appeared to be the first U.S. missile strike in nearly a month in Pakistan.
