ABU DHABI — Famous Lebanese singer Majida Al Roumi thrilled the full-house audience at the theatre of Emirates Palace Hotel with a number of her best Arabic songs on Tuesday night.

Her solo concert was part of the new edition of the musical evening programme titled ‘The Last Thursday of Every Month’ being organised by the Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage Authority, which saw a robust opening on Tuesday.

More than 5,000 fans interacted with the artiste.

According to Abdullah Al Amri, Director of Culture and Arts Department in the authority, the gala night on the last Thursday of every month is planned with the aim of preserving the true art and heritage and pass them on to the new generation.

The message was understood if one goes by the interaction of the audience, especially the young people who were thrilled by the traditional way of singing, instead of the commotion and screaming in many of the new songs.

The concert continued for nearly two hours to the delight of the audience, who was in harmony with the melodies and songs played by the Khalid Fouad Music band.
