Khalifa Issues Decree Setting up Council of Borders Affairs

ABU DHABI — The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 
issued a Federal decree, establishing the “Council of Borders Affairs” under the chairmanship of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The Council is composed of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt.General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Vice-President, Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of the Emirates Airline and Group Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Chief of Intelligence and Military Security and Dr. Matar Hamed Halis Al Niyadi as Members. Al Niyadi is a member and the Secretary General of the Council.

The “Council of Borders Affairs”, according to the decree, is the country’s official competent authority mandated to deal with borders issues.
