UAE’s Economic Progress Hailed

DUBAI — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received here on Tuesday in his office at the Dubai Airshow 2009, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko and Qatar’s Prime Minister Shaikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani.

Shaikh Mohammed welcomed the Ukrainian president, hoping his visit would further enhance the cultural, economic, investment and technological cooperation and ties between the two friendly countries.

On his part, President Yushchenko expressed his admiration about the progress of the UAE, particularly in the economic, social and technological areas, hailing the high level of infrastructure in the country.

He paid a special tribute to Shaikh Mohammed on his huge efforts for economic and human resource development, as well as infrastructure.

He briefed Shaikh Mohammed on Ukraine’s potentials to forge investment partnership, thanking the UAE for providing the logistical facilities to the Ukrainian companies taking part at the Dubai Airshow.

The Qatari Prime Minister conveyed the congratulatory message of the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa  Al Thani to Shaikh Mohammed on the success of Dubai Airshow 2009.

The Qatari Prime Mnister commended the organisation and huge international participation at the event, adding that the show reflects the advanced position of the UAE on the world economic map and its role in strengthening the economic and investment contacts between the countries in the region and the industrial countries in Euroupe and others.

Present at the meetings were the  Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group and Chairman of Higher Organising Committee of Dubai Airshow and high rankingofficials. —
