DUBAI — The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) is working towards establishing IT connectivity between Dubai International Airport (DIA) and Heathrow Airport to facilitate use of e-Gate card by passengers at the two airports.

Addressing a Press conference here after the concluding session of the three-day 18th conference of "Simplifying Passenger Travel Interest Group" (SPTIG) here, Brigadier Saeed bin Bleilah, Director of DNRD, also announced the formation of a working committee to study the feasibility of IT connectivity between DIA and Heathrow Airport.

The committee comprising representatives of Dubai Customs, Dubai Civil Aviation, Emirates Airlines, DNRD and Dubai Police, will submit its report to the authorities concerned for necessary follow-up measures, he said.

"As an experiment, it will study the feasibility of this project by sending select passengers to the UK to use the e-Gate card," Brigadier Bleilah said.
