Govt will showcase advanced technology

ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Interior will showcase latest technologies used in the fight against crime, drugs and any security threats, at the second edition of Security & Safety Middle East 2005 Exhibition and Conference scheduled from November 14 to 17, an official at the ministry said yesterday.

"Our participation at the exhibition and conference is in line with the ministry's keenness to cope with the latest developments in modern equipment and devices used in the field of security and safety. It is also in line with the our efforts to keep abreast with the major changes witnessed by the world nowadays, mainly the information and communication revolution where new security challenges have emerged such as the cross-border crimes," said Col Ahmed Nasser Al Rayesi, Director-General of Central Operations at the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee and head of the ministry's pavilion.

The exhibits will include drugs detection devises by the General Directorate of the Criminal Security. The General Directorate of Naturalisation and Residency will showcase the electronic archiving, the unified residency system, and SMS systems. There will also be exhibits by the General Directorate of Civil Defence and Special Forces Command.
