ISLAMABAD — Pakistani authorities yesterday demolished four houses of tribesmen suspected of harbouring Taleban and Al Qaeda operatives in the country’s restive tribal region of North Waziristan, local residents said.
“The four houses, two each in Hurmaz and Isory villages, were demolished in the presence of security officials, local religious leaders and tribal elders,” a resident of Hurmaz village Faridullah Khan told DPA.
On Wednesday, authorities razed six houses belonging to tribal families in Mir Ali, another village in North Waziristan which borders Afghanistan’s Khost province.
