Sanjay Dutt allowed to travel abroad
From our correspondent

MUMBAI — A special terrorism court yesterday allowed actor Sanjay Dutt to travel to the US for a series of charity shows. Sanjay has to seek the court's clearance every time he wishes to travel abroad.

The judge of the special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Tada) court allowed Sanjay to travel to the US, but asked him to return to Mumbai by April 21. He was also asked not to try to get in touch with the other absconding accused persons who are living abroad.

Sanjay Dutt is accused of having received an AK-56 rifle from underworld don Abu Salem at the time of the bomb blasts of 1993. He was arrested earlier, but released on bail. Sanjay has to appear in the Tada court for hearings, and has to take the court's clearance before travelling out of India.

The court has in recent years allowed him to travel to the US, Europe and other parts of the world, both for film shootings, and for entertainment shows. Sanjay is expected to visit several American cities to raise funds for the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation, set up in memory of his mother, the late Nargis Dutt, herself a victim to the disease.
