TRIVANDRUM — The "Internet to Masses" programme conceived by Kerala government to take the benefits of information technology to common people will be launched in Malappuram, the country's first computer-literate district, tomorrow.

The venture proposed under the Akshaya e-learning project is aimed at providing comprehensive training to use Internet with the help of local bodies.

Initially 100,00 selected people would be given the training through the Akshaya e-centres, said a Kerala State IT Mission release here yesterday.

At present 400 Akshaya centres in the district are linked with broadband Internet connectivity.
